WHAT: This is a statewide DFL Senior Caucus Rally called “Stop the 100 Days of Destruction!” It is organized to protest cuts on Social Security, Medicaid/Medicare, and Veteran Health Care. Trump and Musk In the first 100 days of their administration have prioritized destruction of programs essential to the well-being of seniors, people with disabilities, and veterans. Our focus is on saving:

  • Social Security (they have reduced access, eliminated offices, created data privacy breaches, and potential benefit cuts with DOGE actions)
  • Medicaid/Medicare (they are proposing $880 Billion cuts which is devastating to in-home and nursing home care for seniors, children and others)
  • Veterans’ Health Care (DOGE is making deep staffing cuts)

WHEN: Wednesday, April 30, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

WHERE:
Minnesota State Capitol Plaza (area near steps)
75 Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
St. Paul, MN 55155

I decided at the age of 74 to retire. A current member of the Anoka County Senior Caucus invited me to come. I became president and increased the membership. The time has been worthwhile to me.

Melvin Aanerud

As one of the Founders of the DFL Senior Caucus, and as a former DFL State Representative, my main purpose was to create a political vehicle for Seniors to make known, and provide visibility for the many issues of seniors (health care being #1) to the DFL Party and to political leaders at the State, Federal and local levels.

Dwayne King

I am a DFLer because the Democratic Party is the compassionate party. The DFL is concerned with the well being of all people, from birth through death with dignity. The DFL is the party that represents my progressive philosophies.
